RCU Hosts Free Document Shredding Event in Marin

The popular Shred-a-Thon event will feature free document shredding provided by Shred-It and e-waste collection by Conservation Corps.

From Redwood Credit Union: Redwood Credit Union (RCU) is hosting a free document shredding event for the Marin community on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Novato Community Hospital parking lot at 100 Rowland Way in Novato. The popular Shred-a-Thon event will feature free document shredding provided by Shred-It and e-waste collection by Conservation Corps North Bay.

“Shredding old financial documents and other confidential paperwork is one of the best measures people can take to protect themselves from identity theft,” said Richard De Ramon, RCU’s Novato branch manager. “We’re happy to provide this free service for the community to help people securely dispose of their sensitive documents.”

Attendees may bring up to three banker-sized boxes (15”x12”x10”) of confidential documents for shredding, such as old financial statements, canceled checks, credit card offers, and other outdated documents that contain personal information.
