MARIN COUNTY, CA – Fire weather conditions are expected to return this week in Marin County, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a red flag warning for the North Bay.

The red flag warning will be in effect from noon Wednesday until 4 p.m. Thursday for the North Bay mountains and other parts of the Bay Area. The affected area includes both the lower and higher terrain areas of Marin, Napa, Sonoma and East Bay counties.

A combination of strong offshore winds with ridgetop gusts up to 60 miles per hour and low relative humidity ranging from 10 to 20 percent is expected in the region, according to the National Weather Service. Any fires that develop have the potential to spread rapidly, weather officials said.
