San Rafael Braces For Weekend Freeway Closure
The Highway 101 Northbound Central San Rafael off-ramp closure will start Friday at 10 p.m. and run through Monday at 5 a.m., Caltrans said.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — A busy San Rafael freeway offramp will be shuttered this weekend for period of around 55 hours as construction crews replace a structurally deficient bridge, Caltrans said.
The Highway 101 Northbound Central San Rafael off-ramp closure will start Friday at 10 p.m. and run through Monday at 5 a.m., Caltrans said.
Motorists are encouraged to be familiar with the roadway detours, which can be found on the Caltrans project website, and are urged to drive with caution and follow all posted directional signs.

Residents and businesses may experience increased noise levels during project, city officials said.
Advisories will be issued for each phase of work, and updates can be found at the Caltrans project website and City of San Rafael project website.

This weekend’s Stage 1 closure of the off-ramp is the first of three 55-hour closures that will be held for the NB 101 Central San Rafael Off-Ramp Bridge Replacement project. The dates for the next two closures have not yet been announced.
