San Rafael Gas Line Break Closes Neighborhood Road

Gas service was interrupted and neighbors were told to stay in their homes after a 2-inch gas line was ruptured in a Santa Venetia neighborhood.

Gas service was interrupted for part of the Santa Venetia neighborhood and residents were told to shelter in place after a communication company ruptured a 2-inch gas line Monday afternoon.

PG&E and San Rafael Fire Department officials were still doing repairs at the scene, at Woodoaks Drive and N. San Pedro Road, around 4:30 p.m.

Woodoaks Drive was expected to be closed for "several hours" for the repairs, according to San Rafael Fire Chief Chris Gray.

No injuries were reported and no evacuations occurred as a result of the leak, Gray said.
