SAN RAFAEL, CA — San Rafael is bringing back a popular outdoor dining program.
The city’s “Dining Under the Lights” program, launched last summer and halted in late November amid worsening weather and shelter orders returns Thursday, city officials said in a news release.
The program was developed in partnership with the Downtown Business Improvement District.

More than 40 restaurants and bars are participating in the program.
Some restaurants and bars that do not ordinarily open Thursday and Friday evenings will open their doors (or, adjacent sidewalk and street surfaces) just for DUTL.
Customers are advised to check with their local restaurants to confirm that they are participating.
Lots of people out enjoying dining under the lights in San Rafael. Coronavirus cases in Marin County are on the rise but the County Health Officer says a new state tool that says the spread of Covid 19 is likely increasing rapidly is misleading. @nbcbayarea pic.twitter.com/ex1rVJFmFM
