Are you in need of a girls night out? Enjoy a burlesque-syle workout and give-aways as the San Rafael Community Center gets transformed into Friday night's hottest dance club. Bring your friends to join the fun. First time Jazzercisers are always welcome!. Sign up at any of the San Rafael Jazzercise classes to reserve your spot. Walk-ins are also welcome

Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernàndez

When: Friday, Nov. 9

Where: Marin Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium, 10 Avenue of the Flags

Time: 8 p.m.

Cost: $20

Celebrating the rich tradition and folklore of Mexico, Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernàndez combines artists’ talents with the traditional music, elaborate dance and decorative costumes of Mexican culture.

Ballet Folklórico de México was founded in 1952 by choreographer Amalia Hernández. The company started out with only eight members and performed Amalia’s modern dance ballets in different venues around Mexico City. Soon after, the company was offered a weekly television program where Amalia had to create, choreograph and dance new ballets with her company every week. This allowed Amalia the opportunity to show the public her knowledge of the music and folkloric dances of her country.

Mary Silveira Book Fair

Marin On Ice Holiday Skating Rink

When: Opens Saturday, Nov. 10

Where: The Mall at Northgate, 5800 Northgate Mall

Time: All day

Cost: $15

Located at the Northgate Mall in San Rafael, the outdoor ice rink features real ice and hosts daily ice skating, birthday parties, private ice time and special events. Skaters will be able to skate in the sunshine during the day, and under the stars at night. The rink will be open daily from Nov. 10 to Jan. 13.
