A 9-Foot Menorah And Seasonal Activities At Hanukkah Celebration
The event, hosted by Chabad of Sanville and San Ramon, will kick off Hanukkah with games, activities and the lighting of the 9-foot Menorah.
SAN RAMON, CA — Hanukkah is coming, and what better way to kick off the holiday than with crafts, cookie decorating, face painting, giveaways, a chocolate gelt drop, and the lighting of a nine-foot menorah?
Chabad of Danville & S. Ramon will host the event on Sunday, Dec. 22 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the City Center Bishop Ranch. Organizers seek to call attention to the story of the Hanukkah miracle, in which the meager amount of fuel expected to light lamps in a recaptured Jerusalem temple lasted for eight days, instead of one as expected.
“Hanukkah is the celebration of light over darkness and its message is needed now more then ever before,” said Rabbi Raitman, director of Chabad of Danville & S. Ramon, in a press release from the organization.
