SAN RAMON, CA- The City of San Ramon is creating a time capsule that will be part of the New City Hall, and officials are requesting your input on what they should include in it.

The time capsule is 14” x 14” x 14” and will be sealed at the City Hall Grand Opening on May 14 and not opened until 2083 during the City of San Ramon Centennial Anniversary Celebration.

The city says their goal is to preserve the exciting moment to be shared with residents in the future.

Officials say that time capsule’s contents should reflect both the San Ramon community specifically, and also be a representation of the current times.

As of now, the response survey has five responses, and include a newspaper, San Ramon Futbol Club uniforms, current city statistics, and evidence of the community’s vibrant youth.

The survey also asks participants to project what they think San Ramon will be like in 2083. Responses have been limited, and varied greatly from positive, to not so much:

Jennifer, 42, says: “Still wonderful, but more people will have drought tolerant landscaping!”

Carol, 74, says: “It will not be a friendly city and probably not too safe a city; it will just be another metropolitan city; you will have to move to another area to have a less stressful way of life and probably affordable."

Don’t let your opinion go unheard. Send in your submission with the quick survey by clicking here. Submissions close on April 30.
