The Discovery Counseling Center (DCC) is an organization founded to provide mental health counseling to the students and families in San Ramon Valley. Seeing the need to have this service in San Ramon, Aparna Madireddi was involved in all the discussions to set up a DCC satellite office in the Dougherty Station Community Center. Since it's opening in 2018, it has seen a large number of residents getting the help that they needed but did not have immediate access to. As part of the Tri-Valley Mental Health Committee, Aparna regularly attends meetings to discuss mental health issues in our communities and the various tools and resources that are available to all of us.

About The Experts:
Kathy Chiverton has served as Chief of Staff to two Contra Costa County Supervisors and was Executive Director of the San Ramon Valley YMCA. Her volunteer work in the community includes service on the Boards of Directors of Leadership San Ramon Valley, the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation, and Danville Rotary. She has also held numerous positions within PTA and has worked closely with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District in addressing youth development and safety issues.

Rachel Kincaid is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. At Discovery Counseling Center she is a Clinical Supervisor, Facilitator of the Teen Girls Group (High School) & Alternative to Suspension Program Director. She has experience working with: Adults, Couples, Co-parenting, Relationship Issues, Adolescents, Self-harming behavior, Substance abuse, Anxiety/Stress, Depression, Obsessive-Compulsive Issues, Life Transitions, LGBTQ+ Support. This will be her fifth year working at Discovery Counseling Center.
