Districts Says, "Safety of Our Students is Top Priority" Following Snapchat Attack
A San Ramon middle school student reported homophobic, racist remarks made on a social media video, the district says it's not okay.

SAN RAMON, CA- Following reports of a middle school student being bullied on a social media app, San Ramon Valley School District stresses their support of student safety.
"We believe it is our responsibility to help young people learn to be respectful to all students," said district PIO Elizabeth Graswich, "Our schools educate students about tolerance and respect in a number of ways including character education programs, anti-bullying programs, “Words Matter” week and recognizing the National Day of Silence."
News recently surfaced that an Iron Horse Middle School eighth grade student had been victim of homophobic, racist and anti-Semetic harassment via a Snapchat video. When asked about the districts envelopment is the investigation of the incident, Graswich said that the District cannot speak to individual student discipline issues, however, she explained that the district does not condone such behavior.

"We take all reports related to student behavior very seriously, investigate and address them immediately," she said, "We also take appropriate disciplinary action based on our investigation. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority."
