2 People Injured In San Ramon Apartment Fire

Two people were hospitalized following an early morning structure fire Tuesday in San Ramon.

SAN RAMON, CA — Firefighters in San Ramon made quick work of a fire that broke out in a multi-family unit Tuesday.

The blaze was reported in the 2500 block of Canyon Village Circle at 5:46 a.m., according to San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Dan McNamara.

When SRVFPD crews arrived, the found flames coming from a second-story unit of the two-story building. One person had jumped from the unit and is in serious condition, McNamara said.

The victim, a male, told crews there was another person inside the burning apartment. Firefighters had to go through flames to reach the second victim, who remains in critical condition at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, McNamara said.

Crews were uninjured in the rescue, he added. Neither victim's identity has been released.

The blaze was knocked down in about 20 minutes and was confined to the one unit, McNamara said. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
