EAST BAY, CA – Today, Thursday, Aug. 2, is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day, and to help you celebrate CREAM (Cookies Rule Everything Around Me) shops throughout California, including several in the East Bay, are offering a mini ice-cream sandwich for just 1 penny from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., while supplies last.
"You're invited to help us celebrate National Ice Cream Sandwich day!" the company said. "A penny saved has earned you a mini cookie ice cream sandwich for one penny!"
But do note: One per customer, and toppings are extra.

Founded in 2010 in Berkeley, CREAM is known for its warm ice cream sandwiches prepared with freshly baked cookies and a variety of toppings. CREAM also serves ice cream cones, sundaes, milkshakes, malts, floats and a "CREAM Taco."
