Halloween In San Ramon: 4 Ways To Celebrate

From a virtual costume contest to pumpkin patch, here are four ways to safely celebrate Halloween this year in San Ramon.

SAN RAMON, CA — The city of San Ramon has shared a few of its favorite ways to get in the Halloween spirit with neighbors in a socially distant setting this year.

Décor enthusiast? Check out the home decorating contest. Submissions will be accepted here and regularly posted on social media. Winners will receive one of the following awards: Skeleton Award (scariest or spookiest PG-13 display), Pumpkin Award (most family friendly display), Cornucopia Award (best fall or harvest theme), Hand Carved Award (best DIY or upcycled display) and the Cauldron Award (best door or window decoration).

Is dressing up your thing? The city's got a virtual costume contest for that too.

Submit pictures of your costume from Oct. 19 to Nov. 2 here for consideration in the following awards: Best Group (two or more people); Most Original (youth and adult), Best Homemade (youth and adult), Scariest PG-13 (youth and adult) and Best Howl-ween" Pet Costume. There will also be a best overall award for various age groups.

Got a keen eye? Don't miss the scarecrow scavenger hunt at Central Park.

Download the list of all scarecrows here on Oct. 26 and check them out. Anyone who spots all of the scarecrows gets a certificate of completion.

And don't forget the all-time fall favorite: visiting a pumpkin patch.

Windmill Farms in San Ramon boasts a pumpkin patch with pumpkins ranging from orange to beige and even black. There's a variety of gourds and specialty pumpkins, with hay bales, cornstalks and more. While you're at it, grab some fresh fruit pies, produce, specialty items and more in the open-air market. Visit Windmill Farms daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 2255 San Ramon Valley Blvd.
