Human Error Led To Diesel Damage To San Ramon Cars: Chevron

The oil company said motorists were accidentally given diesel fuel when they wanted regular gasoline.

SAN RAMON, CA -- Dozens of motorists who thought they were purchasing gasoline from a San Ramon Chevron gas station, but instead got diesel fuel with receive monetary compensation for the damages done to their cars. KGO reported the oil company negotiated a deal with roughly 60 drivers of the gas fiasco that happened earlier this year.

"Chevron admitted weeks ago to 7 On Your Side that a third party supplier accidentally put diesel fuel into the supply of regular gasoline at its station on Crow Canyon in San Ramon," the news station reported.

One driver, Giselle Fernandez, told the news station her car didn't even turn on after the mix-up.

"(Chevron) eventually sent her a check for $10,000 to replace her entire engine," the news station reported.
