I-680 Crash Victim Was San Ramon Teen

The CHP says the teen jumped from a moving car.

SAN RAMON - A teenage boy died when he apparently leapt out of a moving vehicle Friday night on Interstate Highway 680 in San Ramon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 16-year-old rear passenger in a Toyota Camry removed his seat belt and exited the vehicle as it traveled on the highway’s northbound lanes north of Alcosta Boulevard around 10:30 p.m., according to the CHP.

A white sedan that was behind the Camry hit the teenager. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The teen’s name is not yet being released by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office.
