Knifepoint Robbery Reported In San Ramon Thursday Evening
Police believe the robbery may have been linked to a similar incident reported minutes earlier in Danville.
SAN RAMON, CA — A San Ramon gas station clerk was robbed at knifepoint Thursday evening, police said.
No arrests were made and no injuries were reported.
Around 7 p.m., a man walked in to the Shell gas station at Crow Canyon Road and Crow Canyon Place, and pretended to buy an item, San Ramon Police Sgt. Michael Schneider said. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, the man brandished a pocket knife, told the man to empty the cash drawer and refrain from calling police for five minutes.

Fortunately, the cashier had just completed a cash drop and only had about $250 in the drawer, Schneider said.
Police reviewed surveillance camera footage of the incident and determined it may be linked to a similar incident reported some 20 minutes earlier at the Pet Food Express in Danville, near the intersection of Camino Tassajara and Crow Canyon Road. The suspect and car description were similar in both cases, Schneider said.
