The county will no longer regulate businesses and activities beyond what the state calls for. The new adjustments are in alignment with state guidelines for the purple tier of the state's four-tiered COVID-19 risk system. The purple tier indicates widespread risk and comes with the most stringent regulations.
Tier two, or the red tier, represents substantial risk. Should COVID-19 statistics improve in Contra Costa County, more businesses would be permitted to reopen.
