Marugame Udon Joins Retail Lineup At City Center Bishop Ranch

The eatery is known for its take on authentic Japanese street food and traditional, hand-made noodles along with tempura and katsu sandos.

SAN RAMON, CA – As City Center Bishop Ranch continues to introduce itself to local residents in the Tri-Valley, the recently opened San Ramon shopping, dining and entertainment destination also continues to expand what it is offering in the terms of a variety of culinary options.

Among the myriad dining availabilities at City Center, Marugame Udon is slated to open soon and will offer its own take on Japanese street food and its made-to-order Sanuki-style udon noodles. The new eatery will also feature crispy tempura and katsu sandos as part of its culinary offerings.

Founded in Japan, Marugame Udon is known for its commitment to hold to the authentic, ancient tradition of noodle-making. The San Ramon location will be the seventh that the franchise has in California in addition to locations in Hawaii and Texas.

"We're very excited to expand in California with a new restaurant location at City Center Bishop Ranch,” Takaya Awata, president and founder of Marugame Udon said in a news release. “Our chefs cook fresh, handmade noodles in open kitchens in front of customers every day, all in keeping with traditional Japanese Omotenashi hospitality. We’re looking forward to serving the community our authentic and specialized Udon.”

The new noodle shop will be located next to Boba Guys and is among the newest additions to the 300,000 square foot City Center Bishop Ranch. Officials from the restaurant and from City Center Bishop Ranch have not announced when Marugame Udon will open for business.

“Marugame Udon will bring delicious flavors and a whole new experience to City Center Bishop Ranch,” Alexander Mehran, Jr., president and CEO of Sunset Development Company, the owner and operator of City Center Bishop Ranch said in a news release.
