Morning Earthquake Jolts San Ramon

The East Bay was rattled this morning at 6:10 a.m. A cluster of small quakes were reported in the same area Wednesday. Did you feel it?

The East Bay was rattled once again this morning with a 3.2-magnitude jolt that was centered in San Ramon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Residents as far away as Castro Valley, Pleasanton and Walnut Creek reported feel Thursday’s earthquake.

This quake was the latest in a series of tiny temblors to hit the East Bay Wednesday. A 2.6-magnitude earthquake shook San Ramon Wednesday afternoon and a 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Danville and San Ramon Wednesday morning at 8:14 a.m.

The quakes follow several other small quakes in the same area overnight, including a 2.6-magnitude quake at 3:22 a.m. and a 2.9 quake at 3:58 a.m., according to the USGS. The quakes have all been on the Calaveras Fault.

No property damage or injuries have been reported as a result of the earthquakes.

On Aug. 24, 2014, a 6.1-magnitude earthquake in the North Bay killed one person, injured more than 200 others and caused millions of dollars in damage. A 4.0-magnitude quake that struck the Hayward fault in the East Bay in August rattled nerves, and elicited some unique responses that were captured on camera.
