San Ramon's aquatics offerings for the whole family have expanded as the state significantly loosened COVID-19 restrictions last week.

SAN RAMON, CA — The city of San Ramon is rolling out new options for those seeking reprieve from the heat by taking a dip in the pool this summer.
Here's what you need to know.

It comes equipped with a straight 15-foot slide, spiral 20-foot slide and a 350-gallon bucket that dumps water over the structure every two minutes, the city said. Wait for the bell to ring and get ready for a soaking.
"The patience pays off to hear the roar and feel the deluge of the water," wrote city Recreation Supervisor Adam Chow in an email.

There's also an interactive mushroom fountain, 62 spray nozzles shooting water into the air and a fully rotating, spinning water wheel.
Lap and Recreational Swimming
Drop-ins are allowed for lap swimmers as of Monday at the San Ramon Olympic Pool and Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center. There are no longer restrictions on the number of swimmers per lane, the city said. Kickboards will be available and swimmers can come at any time during lap swim hours; designated session durations are no longer in place.
People are asked to limit sessions to 30 minutes if others are waiting. Children 12 or younger must be supervised by a chaperone.
Recreational swimmers can swing by the San Ramon Olympic Pool & Aquatic Park and Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center, the city said. Inner tubes and life jackets are available. Pre-registration for recreational swim is open through July 3 and available to anyone age 1 or older. Pool rules can be found here.
Face coverings are required for unvaccinated people while walking indoors at the facility.
Swim passes can be purchased here. Swimmers can also pay by credit card or cash.
