1 ID'd In Deadly San Ramon Collision
The Contra Costa County coroner's office identified one of two people killed in a collision on I-680 Sunday.
SAN RAMON, CA — Two people died early Sunday morning in a collision that injured two others on Interstate Highway 680 in San Ramon, near Dublin. The Contra Costa County coroner's office identified one of the victims Monday.
San Jose resident Joseph LeGrande, 20, was killed in the Sunday crash that occurred on southbound Highway 680, north of Alcosta Boulevard. The second victim that was with LeGrande in the Volkswagen Jetta has not been identified.
Around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, police reported that the Volkswagen Jetta was traveling southbound on I-680 and left the roadway on the right, swerved back onto the road, and collided with the center median wall.

A Ford Fiesta traveling southbound then collided with the Jetta, severely damaging both cars and igniting a fire that engulfed the Jetta in flames. The two people inside were trapped and died inside, while a third person inside the car was taken to John Muir Walnut Creek with major injuries, according to CHP.
The driver of the Fiesta was also transported to John Muir with moderate injuries, CHP said.
