San Ramon Assistant Manager Could Move To Martinez's Top Spot

Eric Figueroa would succeed Brad Kilger, who retired in January.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — The Martinez City Council is poised to appoint on Wednesday a new city manager - Eric Figueroa, who for the past five years has been San Ramon's assistant city manager. Figueroa, who has led San Ramon's economic development efforts, would succeed Brad Kilger, who retired in January after 2 1/2 years as Martinez's top administrator.

If his hiring is approved Wednesday, Figueroa would formally start work on April 22. He would earn a base salary of $234,000, with various benefits, deferred payments, vacation, professional development and other compensation.

Martinez has been seeking stability in the city manager's post. If appointed, Figueroa will become the city's sixth top administrator since September 2013.
