Chevron Gives $250,000 To Wildfire Relief Efforts

SAN RAMON, CA — Chevron has donated $250,000 to wildfire relief efforts in California.

The Golden State has seen nearly 7,900 wildfires burn more than three million acres this year, according to Cal Fire. Twenty-five people have died and 4,200 buildings have been destroyed in the past month.

The company will also match employee and retiree donations to wildfire relief efforts, Chevron said in a news release this week.

Chevron, based in San Ramon, has previously committed $2 million for a four-year program to support fire victims through the California Fire Foundation.

As wildfires raged across Australia earlier this year, Chevron Australia pledged to donate $1 million to the Australian Red Cross for emergency grants.
