San Ramon Council Says No to July 4 Fireworks Show in 2013
For second consecutive year, San Ramon will not have its popular firework show, the City Council decided Tuesday. Let us know what you think.

Citing cost and public safety concerns, a majority of the San Ramon City Council decided Tuesday night to not hold a fireworks show for the Fourth of July next year, the Contra Costa Times reports.

The council voted 4-1, with Councilman Dave Hudson being the only dissenting vote. The Times quoted him saying:

I think the Fourth of July may be the No. 1 holiday in this valley...There's a whole generation of children that is going to lose this. It's dead for next year, but someone needs to say we need to bring this back in some form.
This will be the second consecutive year San Ramon will go without its popular firework show. In February, the council canceled the firework show for 2012.
