San Ramon Little League All Star Team Wins 9-10 Year Old District 57 Tournament
The championship game began on July 8. The game lasted so long that it was called for darkness and resumed the next day.
SAN RAMON, CA — The San Ramon Little League 9-10 Year Old All Star Team have won the 9-10 Year Old California District 57 Tournament. Team manager Dylan Vaughan said the 14 players are all from San Ramon.
According to Vaughan, the team was undefeated in district play and was the first San Ramon Little League team to win a district tournament in five years. The team was lead by coaches Noreen O'Donnell and Jim Russell, along with Vaughan. The championship game began on July 8 at Granada Little League in Livermore.
“San Ramon trailed SRVLL 15-8 entering the 6th inning (end of regulation),” Vaughan told Patch. “San Ramon scored seven innings in the sixth to tie the game. After one extra inning, the score remained tied and the game was called for darkness.”

Vaughan says the game resumed the following day.
“In the top of the eighth, Kam C. singled home Lance S. for the go ahead run,” Vaughan said. “In the bottom of the eighth, Abhinav S. gave up no hits and got three batters to ground out to Jasper V. at shortstop to close the game.”

The team defeated San Ramon Valley LL, Livermore LL, Granada LL and Dublin LL over 5 games to win the tournament.
