DEA, San Ramon Police Bust Bay Area Fentanyl Operation

Six people were arrested and a litany of drugs were recovered in the Monday morning arrest. SEE PHOTOS of the loot.

SAN RAMON, CA — San Ramon Police helped the Oakland Drug Enforcement Agency take down a Bay Area fentanyl operation distributing throughout the region Thursday morning, police said.

They recovered about 900,000 lethal doses of fentanyl, according to the San Ramon police department.

The case began in 2018 in San Ramon, thanks to a San Ramon police officer who was on the DEA task force, according to the police department.

Officers and agents made six arrests during the operation. They recovered about four pounds of fentanyl, one-and-a-half pounds of black tar heroin, a pound of brown powdered heroin and a half-pound of methamphetamine, police said. Ounces of cocaine were also recovered.
