San Ramon Valley Emergency Preparedness Fair This Weekend
The first 500 families who complete the preparedness bingo game will receive a FREE emergency supply gift!

From SRV: The recent fires are a reminder that anything can happen and that we live in earthquake country. It is imperative to be ready for the next big one. The San Ramon Valley Emergency Preparedness Citizen Corps Council invites the community to get prepared at the 10th annual Emergency Preparedness Fair on Saturday, September 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at San Ramon Central Park and Community Center.
This event is all about personal preparedness for families and learning about the HayWired Earthquake Scenario! Gather ideas to update or create your own home earthquake kit. Get your child fingerprinted. Learn all about fire safety in the home with a tour of the Kids Fire Safety House. You can also visit the technology center and sign up for valuable notifications that will help your family in time of emergency.
Event attendees will also enjoy viewing a Jaws of Life demonstration from the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District, a canine demonstration by our local police department, interactive booths and demos and much more!

There will be two different presentations held in the San Ramon City Hall Chambers. One will be given by David Schwartz, Earthquake Geologist Emeritus, focusing on the Haywired Earthquake Scenario and potential earthquake impact to the San Ramon Valley. The David Schwartz presentation will take place at approximately 10 a.m. at San Ramon City Center. The other presentation will be delivered by the San Ramon Police Department and will focus on an issue that has recently impacted our Country; how to react to an Active Shooter situation. Please check the www.bereadysrv.org website for times and schedule a week before the Emergency Preparedness Fair.
For the second time, Food Truck Mafia will be on site so you and your family can a purchase a food truck lunch. There will also be discount vouchers available at the Fair for the Food Trucks (while supply lasts, so come early!). Or bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy in the park. Learn CPR and the proper use of an AED. Interact with vendors and agencies specializing in preparedness, tour a fire truck and police car, and even learn how to properly use a fire extinguisher.
