Tri-Valley Babe Ruth 13's Win Nor Cal State Championship

The Tri-Valley Babe Ruth 13 year old All-Stars won the Northern California State Babe Ruth tournament on Tuesday, July 14th.

The Tri-Valley Babe Ruth 13 year old All-Stars won the Northern California State Babe Ruth tournament on Tuesday night, July 14th, at beautiful Anton Field in Ukiah, California. The team, consisting of 14 boys (7 from Pleasanton, 6 from Danville, and 1 from San Ramon) beat Palo Alto in the Championship game, 11-1.

Using their championship recipe of: hunger, hard work, and humility, the team won all 4 games they played and out scored their opponents, 49 - 4. Every boy contributed to the success of the team with excellent pitching, hitting, defense, postive energy and sportsmanship. The player roster includes: Josh Anderson, Joey Battilega, Evan Chevalier, Beau Garrett, Tommy Gavello, Asher Golden, Jack Grant, Kyle Harrison, Max Masajlo, Peter Montini, Trevor Jackson, Michael O’Hara, Jaden Sheppard, and Cory Steinhauer. TVBR is coached by: Tony Battilega, David Grant, Mike O’Hara, and Matt Steinhauer

Jack Grant was named the tournament’s most valuable player with outstanding shortstop play and a powerful bat. Kyle Harrison, who earned two of the four victories on the mound, was given the tournament’s outstanding sportsmanship award. Next up for the Tri-Valley 13’s is the Southwest Regional tournament in Fresno which starts on Monday 7/27.
