Watsonville Man Killed In Crash Near Rio Del Mar
The crash was reported at 9:08 p.m. Tuesday at Larkin Valley Road and Xanthos Drive.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA —A 71-year-old man died when his pickup truck struck a utility pole in unincorporated Santa Cruz County on Tuesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers responded at 9:08 p.m. to the crash on Larkin Valley Road just west of White Road east of state Highway 1.
The man, a Watsonville resident whose name is not yet being released, was driving a 2007 Mazda B2300 east on Larkin Valley Road when the truck went off the roadway and hit the pole, CHP officials said.

The man was pronounced dead. No other people were in the truck, according to the CHP.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
