1 Dead As Tree Falls On Car In Santa Cruz County
Preliminary information shows a tree fell, possibly on two vehicles, south of Summit Road.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A highway fatality has been reported by the California Highway
Patrol Thursday afternoon on southbound state Highway 17 in unincorporated Santa Cruz County, CHP officials said. Preliminary information shows a tree fell, possibly on two vehicles, just south of Summit Road and was reported at 3:38 p.m.
One lane is open on the northbound side to the summit, but traffic is being diverted off at the summit because of a major injury collision on the Santa Clara County side of the summit, CHP officials said.
