618 Guns Turned In For Cash At Santa Cruz Co. Buyback Event

All of the weapons will be destroyed following processing, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — More than 600 firearms were turned in for cash at the Santa Cruz County Law Enforcement Chiefs' Association gun buyback event on Saturday, according to event organizers.

Authorities said the event was one of many ways that local law enforcement is working to reduce gun violence in the county. Handguns, rifles, shotguns and assault weapons were collected and will be destroyed following processing, according to the sheriff's office.
