Accused Auto Thief Had Knife, Warrant: SCCSO

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A man accused of driving a stolen truck was arrested in Santa Cruz Tuesday afternoon, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said. The victim’s friend spotted the truck and alerted authorities.

Deputies tried to speak to a man who was near the truck but he ran into a nearby apartment complex. After a brief chase, deputies arrested 33-year-old Dustin Woida on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and concealing a knife.

The sheriff's office said Woida had the keys to the stolen truck in his pocket when he was arrested.Woida also had a warrant, according to the sheriff’s office.

He was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail where he remains in custody.
