Boy, 17, Stabbed In Gang-Related Attack; Four Arrested

Police said the victim has been uncooperative with investigators in the case.

SANTA CRUZ, CA — Four people have been arrested, including one adult, after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the face and torso during a fight in Santa Cruz on Saturday, police said. Police said 18-year-old Santa Cruz County resident Oscar Ramirez and three other juvenile males were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and participating in a criminal street gang in connection with the stabbing.

The stabbing was reported at about 10 p.m. Saturday and occurred in the 400 block of Beach Street after an altercation that involved the three boys, Ramirez and the juvenile victim. Police said witnesses told them that the fight began after a disagreement between the two parties. The victim crossed the street toward the group of four people and a fight broke out, police said.

He was then allegedly stabbed multiple times and sustained multiple injuries, police said. He was taken to Valley Medical Center and has since been released. Police said the victim has been uncooperative with investigators in the case. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Santa
