CA Assembly District 29: Voters Choose Next State Rep
A Democrat incumbent looks to fend off his Republican challenger in the race to serve Santa Cruz, Capitola, Scotts Valley and beyond.

CENTRAL COAST, CA — Central Coast voters are deciding who should represent California's 29th Assembly District, which includes Santa Cruz County (except for Watsonville) and stretches along the Monterey Bay coast into Carmel.
A sliver of the South Bay is also included in district boundaries.
Incumbent and Democrat Mark Stone of Scotts Valley is squaring off against Republican Shomir Banerjee, a physician and engineer (no candidate statement submitted). Stone led in the March primary with 76 percent of the vote.
