Highway 17 Lane Closure Planned

LOS GATOS, CA — Traffic delays are expected on Highway 17 in unincorporated Los Gatos parts of this week as crews perform safety work, Caltrans said.

One southbound lane will be closed north of Summit Road in Redwood Estates on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Closures are required periodically so crews can scale the rock slope to prevent rocks from falling on the highway, Caltrans said.

“During this work, motorists should expect delays as crews temporarily stop traffic to safely scale the rock slope to perform prevention work,” Caltrans said in a statement.

“Lane closure signs will be posted. California Highway Patrol will be onsite during lane closure. All work is weather permitting.”
