Man Accused Of Liquor Store Robbery Arrested
The man was arrested after a 2 1/2-hour standoff that resulted in a second man also coming out of the house and being taken into custody.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A 25-year-old Santa Cruz man has been arrested on suspicion of the armed robbery of an Aptos liquor store, Santa Cruz Sheriff's deputies said. Jerry Robles Jr. was arrested Friday night in the 1700 block of 44th Avenue in Aptos, where sheriff's deputies served a search warrant about 9:30 p.m.
Several neighbors were evacuated from their adjacent homes during what became a 2 1/2-hour standoff that resulted in a second man also coming out of the house and being arrested on unrelated charges, police said.
The armed robbery at Aptos Village Liquors on Soquel Avenue happened about 6:50 p.m. Thursday, when the man later identified as Robles showed a handgun demanded money from the store clerk, police said.

No one was injured, and Robles left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Sheriff's detectives are also investigating similar robberies in Capitola and Watsonville that same night.
