Man Run Over, Killed By Truck In Santa Cruz County: CHP
The CHP said the 47-year-old man was lying in the roadway when he was fatally struck.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A 47-year-old man was struck and killed by a truck in unincorporated Brookdale in Santa Cruz County on Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision was reported at about 2:25 p.m. on Larkspur Street just east of state Highway 9.
The 47-year-old man, a Brookdale resident, was lying in the roadway and the driver of a 2010 Ford F-350 did not see him in time to stop and drove over him, CHP officials said.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Ford driver, a 57-year-old Brookdale man, stopped at the scene and was not arrested, according to the CHP.
