Wes Morey is Santa Cruz Police's latest sergeant, with a Christmas promotion.
Morey, a Marine veteran, has been in the department for 12 years and has worked in investigations and traffic, with an expertise in collision and DUI. He's also worked in crime scene analysis.
"We are proud to promote Wes into this critical position," said Chief Kevin Vogel. "Wes has a proven track record of performance and dedication to the organization and will serve the community well."
