Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Launches Drive-In Movie Events
Friday and Saturday movie nights will be held through September for $25 per car.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — Drive-in movies are back in a big way during the pandemic, and movie events will now be held every Friday and Saturday in Santa Cruz, through the end of September.
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, which is organizing the events, will charge $25 per car. The events will kick off this weekend with a screening of "Jumanji."
Movies will be screened at the River Parking Lot, at Beach and Third streets.

There will be newer flicks such as "Guardians of the Galaxy" and classics such as "The Goonies."
A max of 120 cars will be admitted and every other spot will be blocked off to ensure social distancing. People should stay in their cars unless using the restroom.

- Jumanji (2017): August 21 & 22, 8:30 p.m.
- Guardians of the Galaxy: August 28 & 29, 8:30 p.m.
- Aladdin (2019): September 4 & 5, 8:00 p.m.
- The Goonies: September 11 & 12, 8:00 p.m.
- 50 First Dates: September 18 & 19, 8:00 p.m.
- Spider‑Man Into the Spider‑Verse: September 25 & 26, 8:00 p.m.
