Santa Cruz Co. Suspect Arrested In Connection With Stabbing Death
A man was arrested Thursday in connection with the stabbing death of his brother in Santa Cruz County.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — A man was arrested Thursday in connection with the stabbing death of his brother in Santa Cruz County.
Seledonio Diaz, 38, of Watsonville, was arrested on suspicion of murder, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.
On Tuesday, at 9:40 p.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of De Laney Avenue on a report of a family disturbance.

Responding deputies located a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim, identified as Francisco Diaz, 55, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Seledonio Diaz was identified as the suspect in the homicide and was ultimately located Thursday at a hotel in the 8100 block of Monterey Road in Gilroy, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies said the suspect barricaded himself in a room for several hours but surrendered peacefully around 1 p.m. after speaking with negotiators.
