Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office to Expand School Program

​Officials with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office announced this week it plans to expand its Child Safety Program.

Santa Cruz County, CA -- Officials with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office announced this week it plans to expand its Child Safety Program.

Personnel and volunteers from the department will teach topics related to child safety at second grade classrooms across the county, beginning Fall 2016. Over the course of the school year, the group will visit 30 to 40 individual classes and present educational activities four times per year.

The Sheriff's Office is currently searching for volunteers to commit to the progam. Volunteers are asked to help four hours a day, up to four times a year.
