SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — For all of 2020's pitfalls, it has been the year of renewed appreciation for picnics and dining in the great outdoors.

With the great weather and stunning vistas we're treated to in Santa Cruz County, what better place to gather 'round the table and under the sun — or stars?

From the waterfront to the mountains, golf course greens and the streets of downtown, local tourism marketing agency Visit Santa Cruz County has compiled a list of its top 29 patio spots. They've included everything from beer gardens to fine dining and tasting rooms.

Here are some of the top spots for food, according to Visit Santa Cruz County:

Crow's Nest Restaurant (2218 E. Cliff Drive)

Situated along Harbor Beach with a stunning view of the lighthouse, The Crow's Nest even allows diners to sit on the sand.

Ristorante Casa Nostra (9217 Highway 9)

Want to feel really small? Sit beneath the redwoods at this Ben Lomond gem. This Italian restaurant and taproom serves up beautiful meals with an even more beautiful view.

The Sand Bar (211 Esplande)

This Capitola favorite offers striking pier views and a slew of tasty menu items and cocktails.

Hula's Island Grill (221 Cathcart St.)

This downtown eatery has set up a parklet to accommodate diners in the era of the coronavirus pandemic. Enjoy the top-notch island-inspired cocktails and appetizers.

Abbott Square (725 Front St.)

With ample seating, free WiFi and a plethora of options for food and drink in downtown Santa Cruz, you're sure to find something for everyone at one of the Abbott Square spots.
