Santa Cruz DPW Announces Casserly Road Bridge Replacement

The road will be closed to all traffic, including pedestrians and bicycles, between June 22 and Friday, Aug. 11.

From Santa Cruz DPW: The County of Santa Cruz Department of Public Works has announced that replacement of the Casserly Road Bridge is scheduled to begin Thursday, June 22.

Located on Casserly Road and Smith Road, Casserly Road Bridge is a key connecting route for South County residents and businesses. The road will be closed to all traffic, including pedestrians and bicycles, between June 22 and Friday, Aug. 11.

The Department of Public Works is expediting the work to minimize impacts to the travelling public. Detour signs will be posted in the area, and travellers are strongly advised to plan ahead. Supervisor Greg Caput thanked residents for their patience and persistence.

“The new bridge will enhance public safety for residents, students and businesses in the neighborhood. We need to make sure that the construction is expedited so it is completed as fast as it is possible,“ Caput said.
