The Train to Christmas Town, which moved for a year to Watsonville from the Beach Boardwalk, has added trips for its last nine days.
The train, which takes an hour-long trip that starts behind Target at 765 Ohlone Parkway, features a visit from Santa, hot chocolate, cookies, a free mug and train whistle, songs and the reading of the book, "The Train to Christmas Town," written by the wife of the train company's owner.
Our party of five kids and four adults found it delightful, tacky in the most fun way. Full information here. Prices are $15 for children and $20 for adults. The new trips are Monday at 2 p.m. and Friday and its last run is 7 p.m. Dec. 28.
There are trips available Monday, Friday and Saturday, but the rest are sold out, according to its online booking.
The train switched routes this year because of work on the La Selva railroad bridge. It couldn't get to the Beach Boardwalk, where there is also a competing line from Roaring Camp.
