'Winter Wonderland' In The Santa Cruz Mountains: PHOTO GALLERY

SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS, CA — Residents of the Bay Area and Central Coast endured heavy but brief bouts of rain and hail overnight Tuesday. But look to the tips of the Santa Cruz Mountains and you might even see some snow.
As the sun rose, residents of the Santa Cruz Mountains awoke to find a dusting of snow coating their trees, roofs and yards.
Snow was reported in areas around 2,000 feet above sea level and higher, according to the National Weather Service. Snow was reported in the areas of Highway 9 and Skyline Boulevard, NWS said.

"Looking like a winter wonderland over in the Santa Cruz Mountains," NWS wrote on Twitter.
Ted Logan, a Santa Cruz Mountains resident who lives at an elevation of about 3,000 feet, said around 8 a.m. on Twitter that the snow was falling Wednesday morning even harder than it had before.

"Still less than an inch but plenty to be fun," he wrote.
