"As RedBall travels around the world people approach me on the street with excited suggestions about where to put it in their city," Perschke said in a statement. "In that moment, the person is not a spectator but a participant in the act of imagination. I've witnessed this from people young and old, from diverse cultures, speaking hundreds of languages across continents, all naturally responding to RedBall's invitation. That invitation to engage, to collectively imagine, is the true essence of RedBall Project."
The visit to Santa Cruz County was a highlight of RedBall's tour of the United States, Perschke told Patch in an email.
"The response to the work in Santa Cruz County was fantastic," he told Patch in an email. "Every day we had wonderful interactions and conversations around RedBall."
Upon a visit to Watsonville, he said, RedBall "even found itself in the famous potato line!"
