Sinkhole Repair Begins In Santa Cruz
The public is advised to seek alternate routes when possible, the city said.
SANTA CRUZ, CA — The City of Santa Cruz plans to begin repair of a now-barricaded sinkhole at the intersection of Soquel Avenue and Ocean Street on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 8 a.m.
Construction will continue 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekdays for one to two weeks, until the repair is completed, according to the city.
For traffic heading west on Soquel Avenue, the right-hand turn lane and the adjacent through lane will be closed. The other westbound Soquel through lane and westbound lefthand turn lane will remain open. Eastbound traffic on Soquel Avenue will not be affected.
