Soquel Drive Shooting: Teen Boy Injured
Sheriff's deputies are currently searching for suspects and any witnesses to the shooting.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A 16-year-old boy was injured in a drive-by shooting in unincorporated Santa Cruz on Monday night, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office. The shooting was reported on Soquel Drive near Chanticleer Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. Monday.
The boy was walking with another 16-year-old boy when a dark-colored sedan approached them, according to the sheriff's office. A suspect inside the vehicle started shooting a gun and a bullet struck one of the boys. He was transported to Dominican Hospital and was released shortly afterward, sheriff's officials said. The other boy was not injured.
Sheriff's deputies are currently searching for suspects and any witnesses to the shooting. The case is currently under investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to call Sgt. Daniel Freitas at (831) 454-7635 or Detective Galvin at (831) 454-7642.
