Soquel Man Suspected Of Lewd Acts With Children

SOQUEL, CA — A Soquel man was arrested last week on suspicion of incidents of sexual assault and lewd acts involving children, Santa Cruz County sheriff's officials said Tuesday.

Luis Ortiz, 59, was taken into custody in connection with assaults that occurred over a period of more than 10 years at various social occasions involving family and friends, according to the sheriff's office.

Three victims have come forward, but detectives are seeking additional victims.

Ortiz is being held in county jail on $1 million bail.
