The March 14 to 15 Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter event offers free gear to adopters and discounted beer for all.

The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter’s (SCCAS) annual Saint Pittie’s Day Weekend Celebration returns March 14-15, 2020, celebrating the loving companionship of pit bulls, spreading awareness about the breed and finding homes for currently adoptable dogs. 4th annual Pit Stop Pub Crawl for a Cause – $1 off all pints at participating establishments on Saturday, March 14th. Registration underway at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter, 1001 Rodriguez St., Santa Cruz (corner of 7th Ave. and Rodriguez St.).

$25 registration fee includes 2020 St. Pittie’s Day T-shirt (short- or long-sleeved), allowing discounted pints at select animal-loving local breweries and pubs, including Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing, Sante Adairius Rustic Ales, Discretion Brewing, The Jury Room, Brady’s, Beer Thirty Bottle Shop and PourHouse, Parish Publick House, East Cliff Brewing Co., Lupulo Craft Beer House, Steel Bonnet Brewing Co., Rush Inn, Poet & Patriot Irish Pub and Santa Cruz Cider Co.

FREE Pittie Portraits – On Saturday, March 14th between noon – 3 p.m., FREE professional pet portraits for all Santa Cruz County owners of pit bulls and pit bull mixes by professional photographer Tom Burke! (Limit two dogs per family and no group photos.)
